History of Diffusing
The term “aromatherapy” was coined by the French chemist René-Maurice Gattefossé in the early 1920s. Gattefossé spent his life devoted to essential oils and their healing properties.
However, for more than 6,000 years prior to Gattefossé, aromatherapy had been used by the Egyptians, Romans, and the Greeks. Imhotep, an Egyptian physician, suggested that oils be used for massage, bathing and embalming the dead. Hippocrates, known as the father of modern medicine, used aromatic smoke and vapors to purge Athens of the plague.

How To Use
Using clean filtered water, add one cupful (8 oz.) to the bowl. Water should reach the top of the level indicator on the side of the bowl. Add 15–20 drops of any essential oil single or blend. Plug the adapter into the socket at the rear of the diffuser and then plug into an 110VAC power outlet. Do not power the diffuser until the bowl is correctly filled with water.

I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing positive feed back. I have not purchased the Ultrasonic Diffuser yet. I'm not financially able to pay for something that could break in 2 months.

Most people have no problems with the ultrasonic diffuser. When they do, there is usually a reason for it, such as not following the directions.
The ultrasonic diffuser is a different way of atomizing essential oil and a few simple steps must be followed for it to function optimally. Most people LOVE their ultrasonic diffusers once they've tried them and prefer them over pump diffusers.
When you think about it, the glass nebulizers on pump-stype diffusers are very fragile and highly breakable. The ultrasonic diffuser eliminates worrying about glass nebulizer breakage and lets your essential oils go further because they are diffused with water. This is the reason even very thick oils, which can't be diffused in a pump diffuser, will break up fine in an ultrasonic diffuser… as long as you take care of it according to the directions.
Here are some of the most common reasons people have trouble:
-They forget to wipe it out after use. To wipe it out, open up the top and wipe out the inside with a dish towel, paper towel or washcloth until dry.
- They left water sitting in the diffuser after use. The water eventually evaporates and the remaining oil clogs the diffuser.
- They used tap water - you need to use distilled or purified water because the minerals in tap water clog it (just like in a steam iron).
Occassionally, someone gets an ultrasonic diffuser that won't turn on. In that case, all you need to do is call customer service at: 800 371-3515 or email custserv [at] youngliving.com (replace the [at] with @ ), get a return authorization and send it back.
There's nothing to worry about - If your ultrasonic diffuser breaks, YL will send you a replacement, post paid. If the replacement breaks, they'll replace it, too. They'll often even give you credit for postage. The product support team thoroughly checks all products that are returned and makes improvements, so all feedback helps and if useful to them.
