geranium essential oil

Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) has a wonderfully uplifting, calming, flowery scent. It is excellent for the skin, and its aromatic influence helps release negative memories. Used traditionally to support the circulatory and nervous systems, a great deal of its strength lies in its ability to revitalize body tissues.*

Geranium has an approximate ORAC of 1,010,011 (TE/L). TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter.

How to use: For dietary, aromatic or topical use. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop in 4 drops of vegetable oil and put into capsule. Then take one capsule before each meal or as desired.

Possible skin sensitivity. If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Dilution recommended for both topical and internal use. Dilute before using on sensitive areas such as the face, neck, genital area, etc. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid using on infants and very small children.

Geranium Essential Oil — 2 Comments

  1. Hi , Pleas can you send me buklet or insraction how can I use or mix proportion external use for arthritis.
    Thank you.

  2. Armen,

I don’t have a booklet to send you, but it’s very easy. Geranium can be used full-strength externally – just rub it on the skin. If you like, you can then cover it with a vegetable oil or massage oil if you like. As it is not a hot oil, it doesn’t burn and doesn’t really need to be covered.

Personally, I’ve not heard of geranium for arthritis, but people respond to different things. The usual oils used are Panaway, Aroma Siez, Palo Santo, vetiver, sometimes Valor, birch with helichrysum, idaho tansy, and a few others.

Here are a few personal accounts:

“I’ve been working with the Young Living essential oils for the past 2 years. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 20 years ago but have been free of medications for 8 years because of diet, exercise and a good attitude. However, occasionally I will have a flare-up in my wrist, finger, toe or foot. When this happens I use one of three oils: Panaway, Valor or Joy. (Joy because sometimes our pain is caused by our emotions). I notice immediate results and after 1-2 applications, I forget about the pain because these oils really work.” – Angela L.

“I had been using peppermint oil alone for arthritis pain. Then after learning the Raindrop Technique, I came up with this formula which seems to work even better and lasts longer: in this order I layer, eucalypts radiata, majoram, wintergreen and peppermint oils.” – Pat K.

“My arthritic knee hurt so bad some times, I couldn’t make it up the stairs after work. Using Panaway, wintergreen, and orthosport provide some relief and greater flexibility. I tried BLM supplement on the urging from my friend. During the third month, my arthritis pain went away and has never returned. My physical therapist is now using BLM as well as several of my other friends all with success.” – Jim W.

“I have bad arthritis in my hands and feet, have used many oils on this, and although they all do help, I have found vetiver to be quite remarkable for this. I applied on the sore bone areas as well as connecting tissues, NEAT and I felt relief within 5 minutes!” – Jeralyn E.

“For about three months my left thumb was extremely weak, unable to grip anything, and would ‘lock’ and click or snap back into action. I did not have a medical diagnosis, but everyone else assured me it was arthritis or worse!

Aroma Seiz didn’t seem to help, Lemongrass did nothing – and then I started anointing it with Palo Santo two or three times a day. In just a few days I was able to back off to once in the morning, and very soon it was / is back to normal.” – June H.
