Eucalyptus polybractea essential oil

In terms of antiseptic action, Eucalyptus polybractea is one of the strongest eucalyptus essential oils. It comes from the Myrtaceae (myrtle) botanical family and is native to Australia. The oil is steam distilled from the leaves.

It’s chemical constituents include Terpene oxides: 1,8 cineole (10 percent), Paracymene (30 percent), Sesquiterpenols.

The eucalyptus polybractea variety is high in eucalyptol (up to 95 percent) and is well suited for topical application or diffusing.

It is anti-infectious, antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, mucolytic, an expectorant and an excellent insect repellent, especially when combined with other natural repellents such as citronella, melaleuca, peppermint, neem and others.

Eucalyptus polybractea essential oil is commonly used for acne, urinitis, cystitis, colds and flu.

It can be diffused or applied topically.
