Can Diffusing Essential Oil Neutralize the Smell of Burning Rubber?

It seems a good diffuser can do the incredible. I live a few blocks away from a fire station. A few nights ago, I heard loud sirens at the station as one fire engine after the other left the station to what appeared to be a big fire nearby.

fire__5What I didn't realize was how fast the smell of smoke and burning rubber would fill the entire house. My husband and I rushed to close the windows and doors (since it was a warm summer's evening, they had all been open).

But the smell of smoke and burning rubber was thick in the house. The burning rubber smell was especially noxious. I was already getting a headache from it – sleeping with that in the house would surely make us both feel quite ill by morning. What could I do?

I'll try diffusing, I thought. So I got out the diffuser and started diffusing Purification, turning it on for 15 minutes in each room. To my amazement, it transformed the air! In just 15 minutes each room, the air smelled pure and fresh – I mean really clean and delightful. There was not even a residue of the burning rubber smell.

I must say, it amazed even me. I know how well diffusing works to neutralize cigarette smoke, but I didn't think anything could really totally neutralize burning rubber odors as well.

And that reminded me how last week, my husband went out to get the mail and ended up in a cloud of concrete dust! The neighbor was having a retaining wall put up and my husband just happened to walk by as a worker started cutting concrete blocks and sacks of concrete got ripped open and started to be poured into the mixer on the sidewalk.

Having a chronic lung problem, this instantly caused non-stop coughing and pain. I turned on the diffuser near him and in a short while, his coughing and pain subsided.

All I can say is, you can't go wrong getting a diffuser. Any of the diffusers Young Living offers would do – they are all great. Each one has it's own characteristics that make it more suitable for certain purposes, but they are all good.

I used an older YL pump and well style in my house. I've had this diffuser for about 8 to 10 years now and it has held up very nicely and served me well over the years. I've only had to replace the glass nebulizer once because I dropped it (they are very delicate).

That's why I'm considering getting the TheraPro or an ultrasonic – since they are less breakable. But I'm certainly glad I've had a good diffuser in my house all these years. Before that, I had another model, but it stopped working after only a couple of month's use. The Young Living models hold up fantastically compared to that.

If you value breathing clean air and like your home to smell clean and fantastic, consider getting a Young Living diffuser.
