Black pepper essential oil

Black pepper essential oil (Piper nigrum) is, well, very “peppery.”   It has a pungent, crisp aroma that is comforting and energizing.

A drop or two in your favorite entree goes a long way towards enhancing the flavor.  Some people like to rub a drop over their steak after it’s cooked, or put in in a marinade or accompanying sauce.  (Don’t be surprised if your friends ask you what your “secret ingredient” is).  It’s also great in casseroles and salad dressings.

Black pepper essential oil is supportive of the digestive system and is useful rubbed on the skin for soothing muscle discomfort following exercise.

Pepper has an approximate ORAC of 796,635 (TE/L). TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter.

How to use: For dietary or topical use. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid such as soy or rice milk.

Possible skin sensitivity. If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician.
